While other beer gas companies are just distributors for large multinational suppliers, J Gas Supplies owns all of its own cylinders and can pass on significant savings to our customers.
J Gas Supplies was founded in the 1980s by Keith and his wife Penny Gathercole.
Keith, who had a background in the London Fire Brigade, started by refilling fire extinguishers in pubs and hotels.
As the business grew, Keith began to refill cellar gas cylinders for the pubs he serviced, and over time, this became the primary focus of the business.
In the early 2000s, the extinguisher side of the business was sold, allowing Keith to invest in the latest cellar gas cylinder filling technology.
While Keith has since stepped back from day-to-day operations, the business continues to thrive under the leadership of his son Chris, son-in-law Sam, and their dedicated team of Al, Adam, Dave, Martin, and Steve.
Through continuous investment in plant, cylinders, and cutting-edge filling technology, J Gas Supplies has become Cornwall’s largest independent supplier of cellar gas.
